A commercial mortgage broker, Derek Townsend serves as a principal and co-owner of Citifund Capital Corporation in Vancouver, British Columbia. Derek Townsend is the youngest principal in the company’s history, and among his responsibilities in the position, he serves as the firm’s authority in the rental apartment market sector. Under his direction, the company has produced more Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation-insured apartment financing in British Columbia than any other firm.
Derek Townsend joined Citifund Capital Corporation in 2012 and has held multiple positions at the company. From 2016 and 2018, he worked as a commercial mortgage broker and vice president, and from 2012 to 2016 he fulfilled the role of commercial mortgage broker and associate. In 2018, he completed approximately 70 transactions totaling more than $420,000,000, and in 2015 he received the distinction of being the highest producing associate at the company.
Beyond his professional responsibilities, Derek Townsend is an avid participant in the game of rugby. Having both played and coached the game, he currently serves as the head of the Meraloma Rugby Alumni Committee.
